Q: How can I order?

We prefer that you place your order via the website, as internet orders are given priority status and will be filled much more quickly than orders placed by phone, fax, or email. Additionally, orders may be mailed -- a great option when you require specific items based on enclosed samples. When you place an online order, you will receive a confirmation email once the order is received and then another confirmation when the order is shipped. Please note the minimum order is $250.00, regardless of order method. Orders that are less than $250.00 will not be accepted. Q: What is CheckChart Ordering?

CheckChart Ordering is Starman's revolutionary ordering system that takes all the guess work out of placing your orders. By click on a product's CheckChart you can bring up a spread sheet matrix with bead sizes along one axis and colors along the other. All you have to do is type in the quantity you desire in the box and add the item to your shopping cart. Back To Top

Q: Do you attend any bead shows?

We exhibit yearly at the February Tucson Show at the To Bead True Blue, DoubleTree Reid Park.

As part of Team TOHO we also staff TOHO's Bead&Button show booth.

Q: Do you sell retail to the public?

No, we only sell wholesale to businesses. This is the reason we require you to have an account with us prior to purchasing. We are happy to provide referrals to retail bead stores. Back To Top

Q: How long does store registration approval take?

Account approval typically takes 24-48 hours from the time we receive your business license. Back To Top

Q: How do I register?

If you click on Sign Up at the top of the page you will be taken to the registration page. Fill in the online form and then fax or e-mail a copy of your business license, resale number, etc. (whatever your state requires) Once you have done this you should receive a confirmation e-mail with your username and password. Q: How many beads are in a Mass?

There are 1200 pieces in a Mass. The Mass (aka HDZ) unit refers to one hundred dozen. Back To Top

Q: What are the shipping costs?

Shipping will be based on the actual carrier charge. The shipping method is selected at the time of order and the cost for shipping will be added to the order. Shipping costs are non-refundable. You are still liable for shipping costs on refused packages or returned CODs. We have found FedEx, our primary shipping provider, to be very reliable and cost efficient. Back To Top

Q: How do I return merchandise?

We are happy to accept returns for exchange on all damaged items or mis-shipments. A copy of the original invoice must be accompanied with your return. For all other returns, please call for authorization and instructions. Returned items will be exchanged for store credit and are subject to a restocking fee of 20%. Items must be received in original condition (ie. still on strands, etc). Back To Top

Q: What are your hours?

Our hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Pacific Time. You may visit our warehouse/showroom by appointment only -- minimum warehouse purchase applies.  Call for details. Back To Top

We are located in Washington State about two hours west of Seattle. If you wish to visit you can fly into the SeaTac airport.

Q: Is it safe to put my credit card through your web site?

We run a secure server. This allows encryption between our server and your computer. When the encryption is activated, you will see a “lock” icon in the status bar of your browser. The web site address will also read “https://www.czechbeads.com/..." If you do not want to provide us your credit card online, you may e-mail it to us, or call 1-888-683-BEAD (2323). Back To Top

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

For your convenience we take the following credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card and American Express. You may also make payments using PayPal, ACH, Wire and COD. Back To Top

Q: Do you take checks?

We only take certified checks for all new accounts. Once credit has been established with us we may allow business checks.

Make all checks payable to: Starman, Inc. Recovery fees up to $25 will be assessed on all returned checks. Returned checks are subject to electronic deposit for face value plus fees without notice. Problem debts will be referred to a collections agency for prosecution and will be reported to credit bureaus. Customers will be responsible for all collection costs including but not limited to any legal fees.

Q: Do you take COD payment?

CODs are also possible for an additional fee charged by the carrier. When placing the order, select your carrier (FedEx or UPS only) and then select COD as the payment method. You may pay for CODs with a Cashier's Check or Money Order; UPS will not accept cash, personal or business checks. We do not ship COD with carriers other than FedEx and UPS. Please be available to receive the package. If the package is returned, you are still responsible for shipping charges in both directions. Back To Top

Q: Who makes the beads that you carry?

Our Czech glass comes from our own factory in Czech Republic. We've been manufacturing beads since 1948 and are one of the oldest Bohemian factories. Prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union our factory was the primary supplier to the trade company Jablonex. During communism companies required permission from the government to export product; therefore, all business had to be funneled through designated trade companies. After the Velvet Revolution our factory was free to export directly to international markets allowing us to establish ourselves as the leader in Czech glass. We pride ourselves in maintaining quality and consistency.

Our commitment to quality brought us to our Toho seed bead product line. These beads are manufactured by Toho Ltd from Japan. We've become a world-class Toho partner and member of TeamToho. Our product line continues to increase and we are very proud to carry the Toho product.

Q: Do price breaks refer to a whole category or an individual item?

In some cases a mix price may be listed (signified by an * at the bottom of the price group). This means that an assortment of the quantity indicated will yield the mix price. If there is no * the price break is per item. All Toho beads are assortable when purchasing more than 5 kilos. Back To Top

Q: How do I find out when an item is marked back in stock?

By signing up for a stock alert, you can be notified by e-mail once we mark the item back in stock. To add an item that is out of stock to your list, simply click on the out-of-stock link next to the item desired. A pop-up window will display all of the out of stock colors for the item. Check the box or boxes next to the desired items and click the update button at the bottom of the window. To view your out-of-stock list, go to the customer service page and click on the Stock Alert Manager icon. Back To Top

Q: Do you give discounts?

Discounts are available for larger quantities. Quantity discounts are reflected in the pricing structure and are automatically applied in the shopping cart. An item that qualifies for quantity pricing will have an * at the bottom of the price group. All seed beads qualify for quantity pricing when purchasing more than 5 kilos. In addition to quantity pricing we also offer a per order discount for orders over $1,000. Back To Top

Q: Do you have a printed catalog?

Due to the expense of a printed catalog, we have decided to stop producing them – this allows us to keep our prices low. The web site has far more features than a printed catalog, including: pricing, detail pictures, stock updates, and order tracking. It is also more dynamic allowing our customers to see new items as they arrive. We understand that not all customers have web access 24 hours a day; therefore, we are working on an Adobe PDF catalog that customers will be able to download and print. Back To Top

Q: How many pieces are in a gross?

Q: Do you carry sterling silver or gold findings?

At this time, we do not carry sterling silver or gold findings. Our findings are all electroplated. Back To Top

Q: Where are your machine cut crystals produced?

Our machine cut crystals are manufactured in the Czech Republic. Back To Top

Q: Do all hanks have the same number of pieces?

No, the number of pieces per hank varies depending on the size and style of the bead. For example a hank of 3mm or 4mm Firepolish Beads has 600 beads while a hank of 6 or 8mm Firepolish has 300 beads. Back To Top

Q: How are the beads packaged? Are they strung?

Most firepolish beads and pressed beads are strung in hanks. Pearls generally come strung. There are some cases where we only have loose beads. All seed beads, handmades and machine cut crystals come loose. Rondelles usually come loose.
